Our Purpose

“Connecting kids with nature”

The Missouri-Arkansas Beatrice Johnson Kiwanis Youth Kamp was created to fulfill the need for kids to connect with nature through a variety of nature-based, hands-on activities in a primitive environment. It’s our belief this will equip them with the skills and abilities to thrive.  The camp is currently offering  primitive overnight and/or day camping to supervised groups. You can provide your own programming or we can provide programming upon request.   This is a free-to-use camp, just click the button below to learn how to schedule your groups visit.

Current Kamp Status

Our camp offers primitive camping surrounded by miles and miles of trails for hiking. Running water and electricity are available at the pavilion and also near some campsites. A meditation/ meeting area is conveniently located between the pavilion and campsites.   Restrooms are also now available on the grounds thanks to our Kiwanians and community partners who made it happen.

Future development includes permanent facilities at the camp (which will house the camp headquarters,) camper cabins, a nature overlook, showers, a kitchen facility, and several recreational areas.

Help us connect kids with nature!

The Beatrice Johnson Kiwanis Youth Kamp’s main goals are to 1) Enhance understanding of our environment, and 2) Escalate appreciation of nature by heightening the use of all senses.  If you would like to reserve time for your group at our camp, click the link below.  If you’d like to learn more about the Kiwanis and how to support our camp, we invite you to do that as well.
